I am a high school senior and applied for the 4 year army rotc scholarship. my grades are good (3.6 gpa), i do sports, i speak 3 different languages, i do EVERYTHING at my school. im like one of those over acheivers. i thought i was a good candidate for the scholarship, i had my interview at VA Tech in blacksburg and it went very well. i thought i was on a roll...BUT ITS TAKING FOREVERRRRRRRR for them to contact me...now im just thinking im not going to get it. I went up for the January board...does anyone know how long it takes from them to tell you you have received or have not received the scholarship. the anticipation is KILLINGGG me. :help:

i would really appreciate some kind of information before the time i die of stress. :stretcher:

THANKS!!!

sorry sir. just looking for some reassurance. no need to bash me. im new to this whole forum thing. might take me more than a few seconds to learn. but i have read what ive found that was of no use to my situation. but ill keep on reading. thanks anyways.

No one has heard from the January board yet. What was your SAT score, and is that a weighted or unweighted GPA. Did you have any leadership stuff on your application.

my sat score was a 1710. not exactly as high as i was aiming for. but i retake it in march. that was unweighted GPA. because i take AP classes it should be a little higher. and yes i did. i put all the leadership positions ive held including ones in JROTC.

If you retake the SAT's in March it isn't going to matter for the scholarship, in fact I think all the deadlines are already all passed

How many years JROTC have you done?

Yeah. I know. im just taking it over again to prove to myself i can get a better score. Thanks for the thread. it was helpful. i guess i wasnt resourceful enough to find it myself.

1st year i was a squad leader w/ a cadet rank of PFC
2nd year i was a platoon leader W/ a rank of SGT
this year im the battalion public affairs officer w/ the rank of 2LT

No problem. And there is a rumor going around that the offers will be made by the end of next week. Many are being told this so it might actually be true... but don't get your hopes too high this is the government we are talking about

:usa:

hahaha. right. thanks again for the info. hopefully these rumors are 100% true!
