Hi, I wasnt awarded a scholarship this last board but they did say due to my rank they'd push me to the next one. Does this give me a better worse or does it leave me with the same chance?

I think you asked this question yesterday on the "AFROTC 22 Jan Board" thread. I just tried to answer it on that thread.

I think the due to rank is confusing people. Rank has no bearing on HS scholarship tracking, the 22nd board people are discussing is for HS students, and none of them would have rank.

Are you inquiring about OCS?

I thought about that too.

Not class rank as the number out of the class, but they may have confused the 22nd board with the EA board, which would mean rank.

I will openly admit I do not know if ROTC rank matters for EA, and I would assume it doesn't. Caveat: we all know what ASSUME means!

I do know that the AF canceled the JULY OCS board and was planning to have one in Jan. Rank here would be a factor.

People tend to believe there is only one type of board in any given month. This is not true. For January:

OCS
Scholarship
AFSC for Rated Officers
SFT (I believe they meet in Jan, maybe it is Feb)
EA (I believe they too are meeting in Jan/early Feb)

Wires can get easily crossed.

Someone new to the forums seeing that date can jump to the conclusion they are talking about the same board.

Rank needs to be defined by Nelson for them to get a true answer on how to navigate their next step.

I'm a senior in high school so I'm applying for the 4 year scholarship. I didnt receive one but the said due to my rank in the board I'd be in the next board also.

In other words your ranking. I get it now.

In that case it goes back to nobody can give you an answer.

Good news you are on a cusp and they see something in you that deserves a second look.

Bad news is nobody can say what they are looking at/for or your chances.

Hold tight, my best wishes.
