At least now we know, and can move on to Plan B. Just wanted to let folks know DS's status changed first on the NROTC status site---no email, no letter yet.

I keep getting..............

"No decision has been made on your application". Starting to feel like a dog all this "Rolling Over"

No, this was straight Navy option. His status was unchanged this am, then changed an hour or so ago (can you tell Mom checks frequently? LOL!).

good way to put it haha
normally mine says "No decision has been made on your application" too...under "selection status." but I just checked and now there's nothing listed under it. what does that mean, if anything??

DS as well, "We are sorry........." Status change. For all those waiting make sure you have sent in every update, award, sports accomplishment, report card etc for this year. Actually I don't know if they are accepting updates still but I believe my kid dropped this ball. Since application has been in since August, he is being evaluated on last years stats. He worked his other applications much more aggressively and it made a huge difference in outcome.

Still waiting

My son's status still says "Your application is at the Marine Corps District for Board Selection." so I'm going to take that as a good sign (for now)

Status Update ***BLANK***

Checked DS status, and where it used to say "your application....."(can't recall actual statement) it is now blank.

It now looks like this:

The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application.

All required items have been processed.

Sorry to hear that guys.

I am still waiting as well.

Who should I contact for NROTC to update my application? I've done a little bit more since I've applied and I think that my first semester grades will help me.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Don't Give Up The Ship

For what it is worth, my son received the "Sorry, you were not selected for a NROTC Scholarship". He is now completing his Plebe year at the USNA. So you never know how the system works and just because you didn't receive a ROTC scholarship doesn't mean you won't be selected for your Plan A.

From what I understand, the Marine option results from February boards will not be out until late March

USNAhomeschool makes a very valid point. There are candidates every yr that don't get ROTC, but get the brass ring (SA).

The ROTC system is funky.

I am sorry for those who got, at this time letter, but remember it will never be over until they decide it is over, or they hit the age limit.

We are facing economical hardships right now, and that is causing extreme competition, plus add in reducing the military budget.

If your dream is to serve, it didn't end yesterday or today. Keep believing one day you will raise your hand and say "I ____ swear/affirm..."

Gosh I hope not. I can't stand the waiting... and decisions need to be made (by us)!

It almost seems like the military is trying to wrap things up quickly, just in case there is a government shutdown. Time will tell.

That will be a problem - my son has other scholarships that he needs to accept or deny by March 15th. We won't know what college he's going to until we hear about the NROTC scholarship.

:(

Got the "We're Sorry" note too...It doesn't change DS plans though. If He gets an ROTC scholarship to the school of his choice then he will be Army property. If not he will enroll in NROTC this fall and still work his tail off. He is at play practice so I can't tell him yet...I can't say it has been his focal point in life but it still will be a let down.

Scholarship or not these are all AMAZING kids that are destined to do GREAT things!!!!!

I'm wondering if any of these "we're sorry" replies are for Marine Option or straight Navy Option? I am sorry for all the applicants that did not get selected...one door closes, another opens. Thanks for all the great information on these threads!
