I was recently awarded a NROTC 4-year scholarship, but I was assigned to the unit at my #5 school. The big problem, however, is that I did not apply to this school because 1. The application fee is wayyyy to high, and 2. I had already been admitted to my #1 school. I'm beginning to realize now how incredibly stupid this decision was.
So my question is: how difficult is it to transfer a scholarship from the one school to the other? They are similar in tuition cost, if that’s an issue.
Is it still early enough in the process that midshipmen spots will still be open at my #1 school?
And yes, I will be emailing/calling the NROTC office at my #1 to find out for sure.
Is there a chance that I will be able to apply late to my #5 school (I had the application 90% complete, but stopped after being admitted at my first-choice, so my application was recently terminated)
I read that UCLA and some other schools will seek out NROTC scholarship recipients and admit them--maybe something like that could happen with my #5?
Thanks in advance, guys. I really want to be excited about getting this scholarship, but I don’t know if I can yet!
