Will these start coming now also? Or do they wait till April 15th before sending TWE's?

If USNA does as they have in the past, some may receive TWEs before April 15.

Silly question..

I have been able to figure out most of the acronyms but, what does TWE stand for? Is it the dreaded "we appreciate your interest however...?" And what is the acronym we are all anxiously awaiting to come in the mail BTW?
Thanks...

TWE = Thin White Envelope....BFE = Big Fat Envelope. Hoping my son receives a BFE!

TWE is the Tiny White Envelope that a "thanks, but no thanks" comes in, what you really want to see is the BFE, Big Fat Envelope:thumb:

I certainly don't want to downplay the devastating feeling of recieving a TWE from USNA, but TWEs containing non-acceptances get sent out from most civilian colleges as well. On the lighter side, the acceptance letter from Carnegie Mellon actually has "FAT WHITE ENVELOPE" printed on the acceptance package envelope.

lol

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....of course!
Thanks so much for the clarification! :shake: Then I guess we are waiting for a couple of BFE's...one to USNA and/or acceptance to the school where NROTC has placed his scholarship. And yes, I have become a proud member of Mail Stalkers R Us! Some days I have even left shoe marks on DS's back as I beat him to the mailbox...

This is beginning to get comical, almost. Still waiting for with my DS for his BFE. As my daughter has put it "if your going to worry about it don't pray about it, if your going to pray about it don't worry about it."

Funny thing is I just got a TWE from Wilkes University that stated that I was accepted and receiveing a 13,000 scholarship per year (the highest amount offered). I was definitely not expecting that to come in such a small envelope.

Congrats Katamonk!!! Good things can actually come in small packages! My DS received a similiar letter from Iowa State offering $7,000 per year. I am wondering if he does not get into the school where his NROTC scholarship is assigned and does get a transfer to ISU or UC Boulder can a school scholarship be used toward room and board? Again, congrats!

:shake: love it!!!

Don't forget that in some cases a candidate will hear from their congressman/senator with a letter/phone call before they hear from the academy

Not all TWE's contain rejections!! I just received a TWE from Navy on Saturday saying i got accepted to NAPS! but i guess the downside is now I am patiently waiting in line again for a medical waiver :/ Good luck to you all! Im praying you all hear good news!
