I am slightly colorblind, if that is a factor. Physical fitness stuff probably won't be an issue as I am a serious runner and swimmer. I am mainly worried about leadership involvement so advice on that would be appreciated.

Don't sweat it bro, you're a shoe in. Can't wait to see you in the Sky bro!

Slight color blindness in the Academy's eyes is a a major factor when deciding whether or not to accept you. You have great credentials and scores, I think the slight color blindness may be the only thing holding you back.

I wouldn’t say “shoe in”. Yes what he said looks good, although there is a lot besides just things he wrote, the package is huge. Nobody is a shoe in until they get appointed.

Your Academics are fantastic (60% of the app.), You definitely have leadership (20% of the app. but try and get some more community service over the summer), and you probably will have amazing CFA scores (about 10%), the interviews make up the other 10%. Considering you are above average in everyone of these categorys, I would only advise you to take a decent senior schedule, and continue to serve your community. You have very strong credentials. One of my cousins was colorblind when he went to the USAFA. They only care about a few colors. If you are red/green blind, than I would apply to the Naval Academy.

I would advise you to go for team captain, if possible. That sort of kills two birds with one stone (athletics and leadership). Academically and athletically, you look pretty strong.

Medical issues are always tricky. Color blindness (especially red-green deficiency) is a likely no-go for getting a pilot slot. I don't know how much it might affect USAFA admissions.

Rayquad - what state are you from?

I am from minnesota.
And thanks to the rest of you guys for the input.
I would go for team captain but none of the teams I am on have official "team captains", it just goes by who chooses to lead.

Haha then stand up and lead! That's what te academy wants to see is kids who can stand up and be leaders! What an opportunity!

You definitely have leadership

I'd disagree. I don't see any leadership roles. You really want a pretty strong leadership position to show that you gained some experience. Run for NHS officer, and/or team captain. Or look for leadership training type things, I've done all mine through scouting, but you may be able to find some youth leadership training programs over the summer or something. If non of that seems to be working out, nothing's stopping you from organizing and following through with your own community service project. Like Eagle Projects if you heard of those, it requires a lot of coordinating and leadership.

Last bit of advice, I'm sure your physical fitness is not a big worry, but make sure you're keeping up with your upper body strength. A nice portion of the CFA is based on arm strength. Break the track-star correlation of amazing mile run time, but only a couple pullups and 50 pushups :thumb:
