US NAVY and MARINE CORPS, and COAST GUARD units ,"A Force For Good",
will surely be called in for immediate rescue, recovery and rebuilding missions thru-out the Pacific....Hawaiian Islands and Alaska are on Tsunami alert...

I'm pretty certain most Marines would want to take a swing at anyone who tried to saddle them with that laughable "Global Force For Good" slogan.

Good Lord, just stop will you?? This is hardly the time or place to be making fun of slogans or Marines.

Fact is the US military has a long tradition of responding and providing assistance to other countries in natural disasters.

The USS Ronald Reagan (including the Chancellorville and Preble) were just in port in Saipan the other day. Fortunately they were at sea during the earthquake and tsunami but got orders early Friday morning to proceed at best safe speed toward the East Coast of Honshu.
As an American, I am proud that our sailors and Marines are able to help the Japanese people in this time of great tragedy.

You know, on second though, I'll edit that response. Some things never change.

Ugh...that slogan. Sounds like the Navy is trying to be more like us.

Haiti, Sri Lanka, Deep Water Horizon and Hurricane Katrina. How we've responded to these natural disasters makes me proud. Especially to be in a Service that's at the forefront of humanitarian missions. :thumb:
