Can someone tell me if The National Society of High School Scholars holds any weight? And could explain to me exactly what it is/does.

Thanks

I believe there was a check box on the application for NHS. NHS is basically a type of beta club. It requires 10 community service hours each semester. To be accepted to NHS you must have some type of leadership role in high school.

NSHHS is different from NHS. NHS is a great thing to get into. I would stay away from NSHHS myself. It is one of those scams that they try to buy students into. If you have to pay for your membership, I'd stay away.

"Complete scam -- they PAY your school district for the names of everyone in the top 20% or something like that. Then they mail out appeals to you, hoping to get your money. It's as prestigious as say, being left-handed."

Alright I read some stuff like that, wasn't sure if it held any weight. From the sounds of it I'll just toss it.
