Wait List letters are going out.

No, do not know how many or any details -- just that they have started to go out. So, for those getting TWEs, read them carefully as they might be WL letters.

There are details on the Wait List in one of my stickies above. That's all I know on the subject. Basically, what happens depends on how many accept their appointments.

USNA1985 - Looked through all your great sticky notes above but could not find the info you mentioned on TWE's - can you paste the link? Thanks.

Sorry -- meant that I had comments on the Wait List. I've edited my original post.

Not much to say on TWEs . . .

This does not mean that all of the BFE's have gone out right? (obviously except those who get them off the wait list)

Probably not. However, being honest (as I always am), folks who have not yet heard are more likely to get a TWE/WL letter rather than a BFE. That said, probably some BFEs are still headed toward mailboxes.

I think the BFE's are still going out. Michigan only has one listed and they have enough spots for at least 17 with all the districts, etc.

I'm not aware of USNA going by geographic region in terms of admissions and don't believe this is the case. Some of my candidates have heard and some haven't. Within my group this year, there is a mixture of acceptance, turndown, WL and not yet heard. And I personally couldn't give you a reason why some know and some don't other than that those who are still waiting are probably "on the bubble" for an appointment -- that's an educated guess, BTW.

So, yes, some BFEs definitely will still go out but, as noted above, the numbers are decreasing as April 15th approaches.

usna1985, when you say "on the bubble" for appointments for those still waiting and have not heard anything..what do you mean exactly?

Like what reasons could be still left and what could USNA be looking at?

"On the bubble" -- very close to BFE/also very close to TWE. It's sort of 50/50 at this point.

At this point, it's a numbers game. There are X number of appointments left and X number of people who are still awaiting a determination. They are looking at the same things they've looked at all along. The cuts are just closer.

This thread was almost prophetic- just learned from my BGO that my status has changed to Wait Listed. I have a question for anyone who knows: Generally, how many wait listed candidates end up receiving appointments? I know it will be less than the average this year as more people will accept appointments due to economic conditions.

How is this possible? From all that I've read, the applicant finds out before their BGO......?????

I emailed my BGO last night about my current status. This morning, he sent me an email indicating that my status had just changed to WL (wait listed) that morning.

Consider yourself lucky. I've emailed my BGO multiple times and he says he has no info regarding my status. And so the wait continues.....sigh.

Last year it wasnt too many, but they have had as many as 50 that were appointed off the waitlist. It all depends on how many people turn down their appointments for other colleges. There is really no way to tell yet.
