Hey everyone!

So, college decisions are now out and I have a tough decision to make. I had originally hoped to go to West Point, but was medically denied and not smart enough to apply for an ROTC scholarship. Even without the money, I really want to participate in Army ROTC. My two school choices are Dartmouth and Princeton. I would greatly appreciate any information or advice concerning the schools or the programs. Thanks so much!

So let me see if I understand you.

You did not get an appointment to USMA because of being medically disqualified, if you had been qualified would you have received the appointment.

You have posted earlier that you had a 2450 SAT, I'm just curious, why do you state that you were not smart enough to apply for a ROTC Scholarship. I would think with your stats you would have been at the least competitive.

Have you been accepted to Dartmouth and Princeton, if so the stats required for admission to those schools should have been very competetive for the scholarships.

For information just look at the websites for each schools ROTC programs, contact the ROO from each school and talk with them. They will give you the best information available for their programs. I do remember seeing one applicant on this board the received a scholarship for AROTC to Princeston, maybe they will be able to answer some questions for you if they read your post.

Good luck.

Sorry, I just returned home from a long flight and am really jet lagged - should have made my post more clear. I meant that I was stupid in not taking the initiative to apply for an ROTC scholarship, not that I assumed I would not have received one. I have been accepted to both Dartmouth and Princeton for 2015. I am currently contacting ROOs and looking into the programs for each school, but I was wondering if anyone had more subjective information on either school.

Makes perfect sense now.

I don't think there a a lot of Princeton or Dartmouth people on here. You might want to check out CollegeConfidential, You can get a lot of information from that site and talk to others that are going to the same schools.

When you talk to the ROO's have them give you the names of a few of their cadets so you can get in touch with them and get their perspective on the programs.

It was a typo by Jcleppe as the OP had posted 2350 on a previous post.
