The May 1st deadline for committing to colleges is fast approaching, and getting an NROTC scholarship is obviously a MAJOR factor in choosing a school...I've had my application for navy option in for over 7 months, yet still haven't heard anything, and am really beginning to stress out. Does anybody know if they plan on notifying us here in limbo anytime soon about the status of our application, and also if they're giving out many more scholarships?

I'm in the same boat as you. What I did is I committed to the school I would want to go not on scholarship.

My son is in the same boat - applied in August and has heard nothing. We did receive a reply from Ms. Parker in Pensacola the other day, though. Some units have a full waitlist and some don't. One suggestion she made is to request an extension of the deposit deadline from the schools so that you don't commit to one and then receive the scholarship to another. She said that the final scholarship offers will be made at the end of this month, so that doesn't give much time to switch schools if you need to submit a deposit by May 1. I recall that Boston U and Villanova have full wait lists and I think U of Colorado. There are 2 or 3 others , but I can't recall which they are. You might call the unit at the school you are interested in and find out if the waitlist is full.

Update to status of Holy Cross unit

Holy Cross is full and has a wait list. Was on campus today at the accepted students day and spoke w/ the second in command at the unit.
