Notes from Field Training Exercise

Sounds like Dwarf Star had fun. High points were:

1) First ride in a Blackhawk
2) First obstacle course
3) Buffalo chicken MRE
4) Twice as much sleep (4hrs/night) and half as much mud as in fall FTX
5) Land navigation/map reading drills

No shooting or blowing things up, however.

I bet he was excited, I remember when my son had his first Balckhawk experience, said they had a crazy pilot that pushed the helo to the limits....all with the doors open. They use them during every FTX, always a high point, that was until he got to jump from a C-17. Lots to look forward to.

I'll be leaving for our spring FTX in the morning. Should be quite fun, as our mission for the weekend is to be operating in an Afghan village providing support to the locals and operations against local enemy forces. Our MS III's on the other hand get to spend 4 straight days of STX lanes at Ft. Sill.
