If you are interested in obtaining more military surplus rifles and other collectible firearms you may want to look into a FFL03 C&R license.
It allows you to purchase firearms classified as "Curios & Relics" directly from the distributors and have them shipped directly to your home. And much cheaper than what you paid. In many cases, saving the $20-$40 transfer fee charged by your local gun shop is worth the effort, especially if you are an avid collector.
What's a C&R firearm?
- Firearms made a minimum of 50 years before today’s date, not to include replicas thereof;
- Firearms certified by a curator of municipal, State or a Federal museum that displays firearms as curios or relics possessing museum interest; and
- Additional firearms that derive a great portion of their value from being novel, bizarre, rare, or due to their association an event, historical figure or period.
The license is $30 for 3 years.

The UPS man grew tired of seeing me when I first got my C&R, as he was bringing a long thin box to my house that required adult signature at least once a week. M38, M44, SKS, 91/30, K31, M1, MK4, and other nice collectible rifles can be found pretty cheaply if you search the internet. You can also purchase C&R handguns as well and have them shipped directly to you.
FYI - The CZ-82 pistol was placed on the "C&R Eligible" list as a direct request from the curator of the West Point museum (Les Jensen) in 2006. Although the pistol is not over 50 years old, in his opinion it deserved to be included in their museum collection and the BATFE agreed and reclassified the pistol.
