I know that with AROTC, cadets that wish to go AD may not always get to do so. The exception is those at SMCs who are guaranteed AD in the Army.

However, does this hold true for AFROTC, NROTC and NROTC MC option? Or do all cadets in these programs, regardless of school type, get to go AD?

For AFROTC if you are commissioned our of ROTC you will go AD for at least 4 yrs, longer for certain career paths, i.e. rated.

Yes, Title 10 (statute) doesn't just guarantee Army at an SMC (also applies to other services). Please speak with the cadre to confirm this has not changes!!! One thing about AFROTC, though, is that you can be cut mid-stream. As I understand it, you have to make it through the competitive selection process as a cadet (which, as Pima has pointed out, will be getting tougher in the coming years of drawdown). For AROTC, if you meet the minimum standards for GPA, PT, etc., you're in. Minimum doesn't cut it for AFROTC or NROTC, I believe.
