I was wondering how I would look to the Citadel and VMI. I am a Junior and am applying at the end of the year in early June to the Citadel. I have a GPA of 3.00 - 3.01 (unweighted) at a college prep school, and SATs of around 1600 - 1700. I also have things like Eagle Scout, and Class President and Varsity Soccer with some letters. I was just wondering if there are any Knobs or Citadel Grads out there that know how I look to the Citadel.

Thanks,

PM the mods and ask them to put this on the publicly and privately funded military schools/colleges... just below the ROTC forum on this site.

You will have better luck over there getting responses.

Best of luck.

Sorry about that...

Yea, I keep putting my questions in the wrong catagory. Sorry about that.

You'd benefit from a higher GPA. Go for a 3.2 at least. It is doable

If he is a Junior now there will be no time to raise the GPA before he fills out the application.

The best bet would be to retake the SAT and take the ACT.

I believe that the best thing you can do is work on raising your SAT scores- as mentioned above- you can't do a lot about your Cumulative GPA at this point.

Most high schools, at least the three I've been to, only compute class grades into GPAs at the end of each semester. If his school is the same, his GPA will not have risen or fallen since Dec/Jan-ish, and it wont again until classes are over.
