I am seeing that applicants will be notified sometime this month, thank you for information. Does anyone know if it will be just by mail or by email also?
Thank you

AIM Notification Timing & Method

Perhaps Objee can tell us the plans for notification. Looking at the posts from last year, letters of acceptance/non-acceptance were apparently mailed to the AIM applicants on the second Friday of May. IF that holds true for this year, the letters will be mailed next Friday.

The letters are going out May 13th...a little birdie told me.

ps Notice I said letters...not email to answer the question.

accepted!

I just got my letter today for session 3! i am so excited!

DS Notified

DS recieved notification from USCGA today that he was accepted to AIM week 3. We are all excited.

I've been lurking here for many months and this forum has been so very helpful. The road to the SAs seems so daunting, everyone here has made the process seem more possible.

Thanks

DD received e-mail today saying she was accepted to session 3...glad we did not have to wait for snail mail to arrive!

Haha I guess they decided to go with emails after all...anyway congrats to all you have a great experience ahead!

Good News...bad news...

The good news is that I received a letter from the USCGA telling me that the board was impressed with my application, that I had great potential, that they look forward to seeing my application for the class of 2016 and that they are extending an invitation to "Cadet for a day".

My name, along with all other well qualified applicants, was put into a lottery...

The bad news is...

My name was not drawn to attend AIM.

I am not discouraged because I trust that the Admissions staff meant what the letter said and they have no interest in being anything but truthful. In that light I'm honored to be considered worthy of being among those the Academy considers to have "great potential". I will definitely make arrangements to attend "Cadet for a day" the instant that it becomes available.:thumb:

But I must admit, I am disappointed. Congratulations to all of you who will be attending AIM this summer! I wish I could be there with you!

More good news - Cadet For A Day invitations are not extended to AIM attendees, so you have a great opportunity for a much more "intimate" visit and interaction with current cadets during the school year.

I also received the AIM "You're qualified but just didn't get picked from the lottery" letter.

That's life, I guess. Just have to keep pushin' on. Got Boys' State to look forward to, at least. (and I can get a job without having to ask for time off!)

More Good News

Thanks Luigi! Like I said, I'm honored to be on the list of candidates with potential and I'm counting minutes until I can get a taste of the Academy at "Cadet for a Day".

JBL2012, I'm going to Boys State too. If you are in Pennsylvania maybe we could form a USCGA ticket for Governor and Lieutenant Gov.

Sorry brother, Indiana here. Otherwise I'd gladly team up with a fellow USCGA hopeful!
