Without doubt, without exception, without hesitation...
I would be proud beyond words for my son to have the chance to shake the hand of the President of the United States.
Without doubt, without exception, without hesitation...
my son would be proud to be in the position of having earned a handshake from the President of the United States.

*NO* parent should ever worry that the President of the United States would be coming to any Service Academy to shake the hands of the *PARENTS*.
So, as a parent, sleep well... he wouldn't be coming to shake the hands of any of US.
And, despite incredibly tight security, I don't know of a single parent out there who wouldn't LOVE to see DOT continue with fortitude and expediency getting the infrastructure/facilities, services, and professors to the level we want for ALL of our kids.
I am disappointed that the President does not have USMMA in the current rotation... it inserted KP into the national conversation, as regular people and STUDENTS discovered that there are indeed *FIVE* Federal Service Academies. That always helps around budget time, ya know.

Years ago on a visit to the US Senate, our friends and their kids were riding the little underground train to the cafeteria. Another Senator , as far politically as you can GET from the one from our state, made them feel welcome. Upon asking which state they were from, his response was:
"Ah yes, Senator XYZ. Probably one of the nicest and most honorable men you will ever have the chance to meet. I probably don't agree with a single political word that comes out of his mouth, but I have the utmost respect for the job he does."

I believe what is missing from civil discourse is.. well..
CIVILITY, respecting others who may hold different views than ourselves.
It would serve our children well NOT to inherit that from us.

I have liked so many of CPAsteves posts, but find myself respectfully disagreeing with the tenor at the start of this thread.
I kinda think he left his computer logged on, and someone else from one of the OTHER SA threads made the post
