I know we are allowed to bring additional crew socks if they are all white. Can there be a small logo on them at all?

Also, does anyone recommend bringing extra boot socks, such as quality Thorlo's?

I'm no help on the question you're asking but I will clarify for you that BCT is the USAFA acronym. USMA uses CBT.

My cadet did not take extra crew socks. He said they were issued plenty. He did take sock liners to wear under his boot socks and low quarter dress socks. You really don't need much on R-Day, they will give you everything you need.

Per Army regulations, the socks my not have a logo. In reality (i.e. how it really works) they may not have a logo which is visible when worn with the athletic footwear. That is to say, it's generally ok in pracitce if the socks have "Hanes" embroidered on the toe, but no logo should be anywhere on the portion of the sock which protrudes from the shoe. Remember that during CBT they will have their drawers inspected, so it would be best to opt for a non-logo version.

If you sharpie what shows will they allow you to wear it?

Really, you will have plenty of socks. If you decide you need extra at some point into Beast, you could buy some at the C-Store. My cadet's CBT cadre let them buy better underwear somewhere along the way, so don't drag a lot of extra stuff with you to R-Day that you probably don't need. My cadet did take some inexpensive compression shorts but very little else......West Point had everything he needed.

^ The problem is it is hard to find good quality compression shorts that don't have a logo on them- nike and underarmour both do.

MY DS took black Under Armour compression shorts and colored in the logo with a black sharpie before he left. He was fine.:thumb:

My dad did not want to pay for Under Armour compression shorts because they are ridiculously priced. We bought a bunch of Champion brand compression shorts online at a good price instead. However, the compression shorts have a waistband with the Champion logo on them and there isn't a way to sharpie the logo out. Will I get in trouble for these shorts even if I manage to conceal the logos properly beneath shorts and clothing?

Someone mentioned just flipping them inside out as a possibility if sharpie wouldnt do the trick

Does the military state why they don't want logos? Is it a they want everything to be uniform or a they don't want any misconceptions about a logo representing them?
