I recently had my ears pierced again (so now I have two piercings in each ear) as a going away present from my friends. The Navy PTR did not mention anything about sending in photos of ear piercings (I am a female), so I assumed it would be okay. Would they allow me to keep all of my earrings in during plebe summer? Would we be doing anything that could get my new piercings infected? Or would it be easier to just take out my earrings and let my piercings close up? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

No. Yes. Yes. You're welcome.

Dumb. This kind of "assuming" and behavior will get you in big trouble. Don't.

To the best of my knowledge, women in the military are permitted to wear only a single earring (stud in gold (NCO/officer), silver (enlisted) or pearl (formal dress only)) in each ear while in uniform. I believe you are permitted to wear the stud during plebe summer as well as Ac Year other than, perhaps, for certain activities.

As the above poster points out, do not "assume" anything in the military. It tends to produce unwanted consequences. If you aren't sure, ask.

I hope noone assumed that it would be cool to load up on fresh ink to celebrate their new Navy affiliation. Another bad idea.

There are rules/regulations you'll soon become familiar with and will find out only one earring per ear is allowed. would we be doing anything that could get my new piercings infected?yes, you'll be swimming, sweating, crawling in mud, getting dirty, and all sorts of other things that could also cause your earrings to get caught and possible get ripped out or would it be easier to just take out my earrings and let my piercings close up? yes, let them close. Thank your friends, but you've now entered the us navy and there will be several restrictions on what you wear be it civilian attire (when you finally rate it) to how much jewelry you can wear, your makeup, nail polish, etc...any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

welcome to military life :)
