Does anybody know anything about the USCGA Rifle team? It seems they have been changing coaches fairly frequently. Is the USCGA a stepping stone or are there other factors in coaches moving on?

Well it's possible if it was an active duty CG officer or enlisted he/she may have been transferred. Other than that, don't know.

CGA is an assignment like another other. It's a staff tour....and some people try to avoid or "short-tour" staff tours. If the coaches are active duty, transfers are the biggest part of that. I wouldn't consider it a stepping stone...CGA is just another assignment.

It hadn't occurred to me that the coach would be active duty. That makes sense as to the turnover with essentially no publicity. Are there civilian coaches at USCGA or are they all active duty?

There is a Staff Directory showing all varsity sports coaches at http://www.uscgasports.com/ and Rifle is actually the only one (currently) with a rotating military staff officer as the head coach.
