Hello all,
I received my AROTC mail today, stating that I may continue on with my ROTC application and what is expected of me. It states that I have to take a physical fitness test for ROTC, but I just wanted to know if my CFA score could also be used for the fitness exam.

Thanks!
Dave

Yes, it can. You need to contact your RC and request that your CFA results be forwarded to AROTC Cadet Command.

Awesome! I was wondering the same thing. Is there any chance that could be done for AFROTC as well, even though the Air Force test is a 1.5 mile run rather than 1 mile?

Just an FYI, the service academy CFA cannot be used for the AROTC scholarship. For AROTC you must take the PFT (presidential fitness test) which is one-min. sit ups one-min push ups and a mile run. If you take it with a PMS sometimes they'll have you complete a full APFT which is the whole two mile run with two-min. push ups and sit ups.

Regardless of which you take for the scholarship, your CFA cannot be used for ROTC. The requirements for who can give the test are about the same so the same proctor may be used twice, but definitely not the same test.

I just looked up on the AFROTC website and it says you must take the PFA which it said consisted of a mile and a half run and push ups and crunches, not specifying how long those two events were. So my guess would be no, you can't interchange any of the three tests seeing as how they all have different components and I have no idea what the AF requires of the person giving your test.

Best of luck.

Check with Cadet Command

That was not the case for my DS. I recommend you contact Cadet Command. They accepted his USMA CFA for AROTC and he won both a national and a campus-based AROTC scholarship. All they had to do was get a copy of the results from USMA, not a problem. Just saying it could happen, so for something this specific, go to the source.

I agree with RLTW. DS was awarded several AROTC scholarships and did not have to do anything else for the physical assessment part except the CFA.
If you think about it logically, the CFA has the same components as the ROTC Physical Fitness Assessment PLUS more so why wouldn't Cadet Command accept the CFA?
I also agree that you should ask Cadet Command in case things have changed and there is a new policy. :thumb:
