If a plebe is wearing a Neckerchief tied in a knot and hung around the neck with the knot resting at the upper chest level, what does that mean?

Could the Black Scarfs be Tango Company?
The black kerchiefs are just part of the whiteworks alpha uniform. As plebe summer is past the halfway point, you will see the plebes wearing whiteworks alphas for church and for plebe parades when it is the uniform of the day. The uniform of the day may be different than the working uniform, which for the majority of plebe summer, is whiteworks echo.
Traditionally, plebes wear the summer whites for the first time during PPW. They will be very proud of earning this - and very paranoid about keeping squared away.
The plebes also wear whites at the Baysox game (coming up this Friday, so all of mine are currently furiously ironing and burning their shoulderboards).
Our plebe year was the year of the baseball strike. So, instead of an outing tot the Orioles game, we got a bonfire or some such fool thing.
