Should my DS have gotten a packet or heard from his AROTC detatchment by now (school starts in Sep)? We received the bill for school and I called to ask them what we pay/the scholarship pays and I was told there was a form that needed to be submitted. DS had no idea about this form since he's not heard anything yet.

If he should have heard/received something I'll have him call.

Thanks!

I think it depends on the Battalion.

My older son started school and ROTC in 2008, he did not receive any paperwork before he arrived at school. The battalion gave him all the paperwork and he filled it all out during the first 2 weeks of school.

My younger son is going to the same school starting in Aug. They must have changed things at the school because he received a large file of paperwork to fill out before he arrives at school.

Just let the accounting office know at the school that your son is on an AROTC Scholarship. My son's accounting statement always seemed to have late fees before each semester, once the Army paid the late fees were removed.

Call the Battalion ASAP...whether you've gotten paperwork or not, it's time for your son to have some idea what the plan is going forward. Better to have the Battalion tell you to have some patience then to listen to us on the discussion board pontificate about your situation.
