Class of 2015 Motto

I like it. Not as good as my class's, mind you :thumb:, but pretty good.

Well, I always thought the basic essence of leadership was leading a group without being attributed the leadership role (as in, the group will say "we've done it ourselves" when the leaders is a great one)... Well, I'd love to hear the story of how that motto was chosen!

I am not sure what you mean by your comment Bill. I think the motto refers to the doing what is necessary for the those you lead, not I am the leader see me roar.

Haha. Yes, I think that's what they mean (do what's necessary for those you lead); I just felt that, at a first glance, it did seem like the "I'm a leader, see me roar!". At least that's how I saw it, probably I am alone here.

It's a good motto. Very nicely done. Not as good as my class's, but hey, they can't hope to measure up. ;)

Out of curiosity, what was your motto SP?

How are mottos chosen?

For my class (C/O 2014), every New Cadet filled out a form during Beast with what they thought would be the best class motto.

It was sent up through the chain of command and our class motto was ultimately chosen by the higher ups (I'm not sure exactly who) from among the 1400 or so suggestions sent in.

In my day, the class got to vote after the suggestions had been looked through. I think we had four or five choices on the ballot, but I certainly can't remember any of those that didn't win.

Same for us. Lots of suggestions, the leadership chose the top 5, and then we voted.

My class was also able to vote from the top submissions sent up by New Cadets. 2015 sent up submissions but I don't know if they voted or not since I was only there for the first half.

We actually had two votes. The first vote was 8-10 selections of the suggestions sent up by New Cadets. The second vote was a run-off of the top three.
