USAFA Teacher recommendation

I have been upgraded to candidate status for USAFA and submitted emails august 4th for my teachers but they all say they have not received any emails from the academy. My status page says "selection made 8/4" below the status part for all of my teachers. Does this mean they haven't sent the email to them yet or that they have and my teachers haven't received them? Also, is anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. There's some small text and a link to a paper version of the form at the bottom of the page, so I emailed my teachers a link to that form. The instructions say you can have your teachers print out the form, fill it out, and fax it to USAFA.
 
Same boat here. DS's application just shows everything that has been turned in with a status of not yet processed. I would assume the emails have not yet been sent to the teachers yet either. Don't know if this is normal or if the application program still has issues.
 
Many things are not being accomplished right now. DS has all but the teacher recommendations (school doesn't start until later this week) done. None have been processed by USAFA. I believe that the new system for the application process is causing considerable delays across the board. That being said, I am having a hard time sitting on my hands waiting too :rolleyes:
 
What are the requirements for teacher recommendations... how many? what subjects? which grades are acceptable? Thank you! (trying to prepare for next year)
 
You need one from your Math teacher, your English teacher, and one from some teacher from another class. They can be from either your Jr. or Sr. year.
 
My son's status page shows that the first emails were sent today to all three of his teachers.

My son's were sent as well. The interesting thing was they processed his writing sample which he submitted this weekend, but not his personal data record which was submitted on the 8th?:confused:
 
Hey I just checked back and looked at my profile today and it says the emails were sent today. Thanks for all the helpful replies!
 
There is a saying in the Air Force "Hurry up and wait". This is a long application process and it takes a few days for things to be processed. Just remember that the application has at least 5 parts and there are roughly around 19,000 kids that will open up applications (not all will be finished). That is a lot of paperwork for people to process and file. The wait is terrible, but everyone else is waiting with you. For most, this is the short wait since most appointments don't go out until March, especially with the smaller numbers this year. Patience is key in this whole process.
 
I was just worried because with USMA and USNA, the Emails were sent immediately. I didn't know USAFA actually processed them before sending the Emails. I waited 12 days and didn't see that they had been sent and my teachers hadn't gotten them so I was curious as to what was going on.... Now I know :biggrin:
