My school makes all rising seniors prepare a college packet including worksheets on our top two schools. One of my choices is USMA and there are a few obscure questions in this packet that I was hoping someone might know the answer to.

-How big is the library?

-Do they have tutoring services and/or writing center is I need them? What do they include?

-Does the college offer bus service from campus into town to shop and attend events?

-Does the college provide bus transportation home or to transit on weekends and/or holidays?

-What are the security provisions on campus?

These are the only ones from the packet that I didnt know or couldnt find the answers to so THANKS for the help! And yes I realize that these might not really apply to military academies but the packet is very generic and annoying but still part of the first quarter grade.

-How big is the library?

The library has 6 floors (5 above ground and a basement). It's 148,000 ft square and can contain up to a million books if all the shelves are completely filled.

-Do they have tutoring services and/or writing center is I need them? What do they include?

Each company has it's own tutor staff composed of cadets. Teachers also all offer individual tutoring for any and all of their students who make appointments (called "additional instruction" or AI). West Point also has a "Center for Enhanced Performance" in the library which helps cadets with study skills, goal setting, and such.

-Does the college offer bus service from campus into town to shop and attend events?

The closest "town" is Highland Falls, which doesn't really have much in the way of events or shopping centers.

-Does the college provide bus transportation home or to transit on weekends and/or holidays?

West Point arranges for buses to come and shuttle cadets to JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia airports for 4 day weekends and major holidays. This service costs ~$15 one way.

-What are the security provisions on campus?

There are active-duty military police that are stationed here, as well as civilian security contractors who check vehicles and IDs at the gate.

This is hilarious. Please give your school a sarcastic answer on this one. :shake:

Lol! I thought the exact same thing. I wrote: "Its a MILITARY academy." and then in small letters in the line underneath wrote a serious answer incase I end up with a nasty teacher who doesn't understand how generic this forms are. Its pretty funny also how there is like half a page one finances and I just fill in every line as 0.

Worksheet: How will you pay for this school?

Answer: As far as money goes... You will.

:yllol::yllol::yllol: I am so writing that! My guidance counselor is going to hate me when I turn this in. lol. thank you! :yllol:
