Greetings from New London!

Although the Academy suffered no major damage when Hurricane Irene made landfall in Connecticut on Sunday, electrical power has not been restored to the Admissions Office. As a result, our computer network and phone lines are expected to be down until at least Tuesday, September 6th. Most of the Admissions staff members are working remotely to return e-mail inquiries and can be reached on their cell phones, but we appreciate your patience during this time.

We have made the decision to delay opening the Class of 2016 application until Monday, September 12th, but will release updates on our website and via e-mail in the days to come. The Admissions brief scheduled for Friday, September 2nd will be conducted in Leamy Hall instead of the Admissions Office. Again, the majority of Admissions staff members are working remotely and will return your e-mail inquiries and cell phone messages in a timely manner.

They were able to make repairs much quicker than anticipated, so we're back in business today with electrical power, computers, and phones working!

Will the Class of 2016 application opening still be delayed until the 12th? I don't know if I can wait that long...I can't wait to get started!

Trust me, we also can't wait for you (and everyone else) to get started!

We're in the final stage of review/testing of our new online application and hopeful that we'll be able to open, as scheduled, next week. There is a lot of new functionality in this application including online instructor evaluations and electronic reporting of PFE results. The only required application item that you'll now need to submit in the mail is your official high school transcript. So it may be delayed a few days, but I assure you the new application will be worth the wait!
