DD just got a call notifying her that she was awarded a 4yr scholarship Navy option to Texas A&M! Maybe this is an indication that more are on the way--Good luck to all applicants.

CONGRATS!!! I just received notification that I have been awarded a NROTC scholarship to my #1 school!

Kathleen, thanks!

bradster1993, way to go you!! what school??

Happy Days :groupwave:

Lee2015: I got my scholarship to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill on a tier 3 major so im pretty stoked about that haha

Tier III? Wow, that's quite impressive. What is your major going to be? You're one of the Few, the Proud, the 15% who are Tier III. And all the Tier Is and Tier IIs are going to either evny you, or give you s&%t over it for four years :)

Yeah I thought if I was gonna be picked up for the scholarship on a tier 3 it would be later in the game on a space available basis but needless getting picked up this early in the game is a real accomplishment. Somebody in Pensacola must have liked me a lot to choose me this early with a tier 3. Anyway enough rambling haha, my major is going to be Business Administration and Management. And in either scenario I win haha.

That's a pretty relevant major for an officer, really. I can see how that happened.

ROTC scholarship

I received the Army ROTC scholarship to 2 schools in Georgia. However, I really really wanted UF. does anyone know if you can change the decision of schools chosen on the scholarship status or are these schools I was selected for set in stone ?

armydude, you're on a NAVY rotc thread. You should post the question in one of the many ARMY rotc threads...

But to answer your question, you accept the scholly to the undesired school (you have 30 days, I think, and no-harm, no-foul if you later decide you don't want the scholarship), then petition Cadet Command to change to another school.

DD awarded a scholarship to Norwich (#1 choice) with a major in Chemistry.

I registered on this board last night and just now received a call from my son (I am at work) that he received a 4 year NROTC scholarship for University of Michigan! I am overwhelmed!

I have really enjoyed reading the posts here and will keep reading as he progresses through the process. Thanks!

Congratulations -- what Tier?

Tier I = Engineering
Tier II - Math, Science
Tier III - everything else
Nursing - its own tier

I also received a NROTC 4-year scholarship today. It came through e-mail and mail. It was to my first choice school Georgia Institute of Technology for a tier I major of aerospace engineering.

Wow!!! Congrats. GA Tech has a tremendous Engineering College. Best wishes. :thumb:

Thanks for the congrats - I will pass them on!

My son's NROTC scholarship at University of Michigan is Tier I - he plans on studying Nuclear Engineering.

Congrats to you guys, those are very impressive colleges, not only academically, but also for the caliber of their cadre.

Not bubble wrap those kids so they don't break anything!

Believe it or not that is when you know the exhilaration of the scholarship he worn off, and reality has sunk in. Before they would say I am going to go with my friends skiing, you would kiss them goodbye and go about your day. Now, you sit there saying please don't call me to say you broke something!

It would start that stupid DoDMERB thing all over again!
