I received a 3 year AROTC scholarship to a private university and a 4 year scholarship to a public university after the first board. Can this in any way aid my chances in gaining admission to USMA, or are the two application processes completely independent of each other? Thank you.

They are completely independent. However, it MAY indicate you have better odds for an appointment vs those who applied to both and didn't get a ROTC scholarship. Don't let this get your hopes to high though.
