Does anyone know the dates for the AFROTC scholarship board? I thought there was one in early Nov? Is it monthly?

Not sure when the dates are. All I know is my det is rushing us through our DODMERBS due to "available scholarships."

Scheduled Board Dates Expected Release Dates
06-09 December 2011 28 December 2011
23-27 January 2012 10 February 2012
27 Feb-02 March 2012 16 March 2012
26-30 March 2012 13 April 2012

Does anyone know if there are there separate board dates for nursing AFROTC scholarship selection or are all scholarships considered at once?

bpanter94- do you know the dates the board met in Nov? Not sure if DS application was complete by then and wondering if it has not gone to the board yet.
Thanks for the info...

Maybe 1000% incorrect, but I believe the AFROTC 1st board is Dec.

In these financial times it is not unusual for a candidate to be rolled to the next board. Don't assume that because the paperwork was in, or they met the board they will get a yea or nay shortly after the board meets.

6. When and how will I be notified if I have been offered a scholarship?

If offered an Air Force ROTC scholarship, you will be notified in writing after the scholarship selection boards meet.

Board results are scheduled to be released on or around the following dates:

Dec 28 2011
Feb 10 2012
Mar 16 2012
Apr 13 2012

9. What were the average scores for all AFROTC scholarship recipients for 2011?

Scholarship Types
Data Type 1 Type 2 Type 7
SAT 1464.00 1327.92 1238.09
ACT 31.75 30.69 27.72
GPA 3.88 3.88 3.77

I saw somewhere that the first board meets December 3-7, but I cannot seem to find it online. It may have been an email from a technician though.

I like that AFROTC tells us the release date, unlike NROTC (with top secret board dates)

good luck to everyone!

crair70- Pima is right, the first board is December. The first board meets December 06-09 with a estimated release date of 28 December as I stated in my earlier post. Sorry I took so long to respond, but I was out of town for the holidays.

kpmom2013- I don't think there is a seperate board for AFROTC Nursing applicants. I am pretty sure that all AFROTC HSSP applicants, regardless of major, meet the same boards.

Totally correct on the NROTC Boards. The recruiter told DD Aug, Nov, and Feb. The Battalion at her first choice says Nov and Feb and thru my contacts I was able to get in touch with the NETC and they say every 2 weeks they review and approve. DD has to have shoulder surgery for a SLAP tear (that bubblewrap theory) and is awaiting USNA, AFA or ROTC updates as we go into surgery this month. Not supposed to impact the selection for ROTC since they select before they get the DODMERB results. Giving up her senior year of High School Swimming for a "maybe" from any of the sources. While she exceeds the averages for the class profiles academically lets just say she is a little stressed as are Mom and Dad.

I always say for you not to go insane when it comes to the military you have to believe in fate. If that is the path you will go than that is the path and nothing will stop it from occurring...you can try, but you always land up back where you started.

Place it in the back of your mind, and enjoy these last 7 months together. What will be will be.

I know that is easier said than done, trust me I know. However, this will be just the 1st of many boards and with each board the severity of making it becomes more intense.

For example:

As an AFROTC cadet she will have to compete for an SFT slot as a sophomore. No slot, scholarship or non-scholarship is disenrollment out of AFROTC. Currently only about 55% go to SFT nationally. No points are awarded because the cadet os on an AFROTC scholarship.

As an AFROTC cadet in her fall sr yr at college she will go up for her career field (AFSC) board. That is for the rest of her life, or at least for the next few yrs.

Scholarship boards will feel like a party compared to the next two boards. Than of course a few yrs later it will be promotion boards, and your stomach will be in knots for months even if you get the def. promote, because now it is not about being promoted , but being selected to do in residence school.

It never ends until you leave the military. Sorry, but welcome to the club, you are not alone in your anxiety.

Received word today that I received my Type 2. Results should be out anytime now for everyone

Thanks everyone.

This was an in college scholarship (3 year, type 2). To the person who asked how I found out our colonel made an announcement yesterday morning saying he got work from HQ on who the recipients were. I'll be contracting on Monday.

Congrats Beardwn and thank you for your response. I am a AFROTC HSSP candidate and I was pleasantly surprised when I seen your post. I knew that the HSSP board was meeting this week and I thought that it was a little early for those results to be released yet. Thanks for your clarification and congrats again!
