I actually have 2 questions.

First one - regarding applications. We've been told that it might be advisable to apply for a sports related connection. Does anyone know how to go about this?

Secondly, last weekends Army/Navy game had my husband questioning the sports process at the school with regards to cadets. Are the members of the football team cadets at the school? How actively does the school go out recruiting cadets to fill their sports teams so they can be competitive in the divisions they are in.

The football players are mids or cadets.

Each team member must be a Midshipman/Cadet in good standing.
All of the varsity teams actively recruit, but the academic requirements are tougher than for most colleges and universities:
- No one can major in "basketweaving"
- Everyone (at Navy) must take and pass classes in physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, calculus, etc

If you go to the offical USNA sports website, www.navysports.com, and click on the tab titled "Recruits" at the top, it will take you to the web page that has a lot of the information you are looking for. It also has links to the individual sports pages at USNA and gives you the information you will need to contact a coach regarding your interest. Hope this helps!

thanks all. I actually found the sports site and had my questions answered after posting here last night. I would have deleted this post if the forums would let me, so I didn't waste your time, but while I can click on edit/delete, there is no option to actually delete.

Live and learn. Should have spent 5 more minutes on "the google" before submitting my post. :)
