I just received my ACT results. They are as follows: Composite-30, English-33, Math-24, Reading-33, Science-30, Combined English/Writing-29. This was my first test and I know math is important at the academies. I am a recruited athlete, and I understand that I must be 3Q'd, but how do my chances look so far? I am a high school junior looking to attend USMA.

No one can tell you for sure. We don't sit on the boards so take everything anyone tells you with a grain if salt. That being said, as you already know your math score is your weak spot. Take the ACT again to try to pull it up. Take the SAT to see if you do better taking it. Your scores may be good enough as is, especially since you're being recruited, but better safe than sorry. Besides, we both know you want to five it your very best.

Good luck! :thumb:

My ACT scores looked very similar, including math. Take the ACT again. West Point takes the highest score for each subject, even if the scores are from different tests. And although being a recruited athlete will help, you still need to make your academic record really good. But other than math, you look solid:thumb:
