There will be Academy Admissions Partners and parents from the Great Lakes Chapter of the Academy Parents Association at the Strictly Sail Chicago Show at Chicago's Navy Pier, January 26-29, 2012. We are in Booth #596 and will have large displays of the new Leadership 44 Academy Coastal Sailing sail boats. We invite all applicants and their parents to stop by and see our display and visit the show, and bring the younger brothers and sisters! There are million dollar sail boats to tour, fun interactive games for the kids, on scene food, and great vacation ideas from the many vendors. Coast Guard Auxiliary will have a very large separate display with a Response Boat Small on the show floor. This is a great opportunity to talk to knowledgeable people about USCGA.

Just hate when guys pose for shots with their hands in their pockets. Need a good chief to set him straight!
 
Two days left to visit the Coast Guard Academy booth at the Strictly Sail Show at Chicago's Navy Pier. While you are there, don't miss the $3.5 million 86 foot racing sail boat -- the largest sailboat EVER to be displayed indoors at a U.S. boat show! Her mast stands nearly at 100 feet, her largest sail measures at 5,000 square feet, and she is constructed of high-tech carbon fiber. It sleeps 16 and has a recorded speed of 27 knots. It is open for tours and is a "must see" at the show!
