I am wondering what happens when a cadet falls below the 2.5 gpa required to keep their scholarship? I assume they are required to pay back the Army?
I would also think that yrs in may play a factor.
In other words, a freshman may be released as in no harm/no foul. A jr may be required to payback or enlist since they attended LDAC.
I have always heard for every branch that it is the jr. yr where the enlisted option comes into play.

Thanks for all the replies! I am not the cadet - I am a concerned parent. My son overloaded last semester (Calc 3, physics, Organic Chem, Latin Studies etc). he passed with C's at worst. His ROTC grades are all A's, so no worry there.
I was just a little concerned what would happen if he had another rough semester. I just guessed at the 2.5 number, sorry about that!
The contract says 2.0 for cumulative and semester GPA, and 2.0 for ROTC class. If you drop below we turn off your scholarship for the next semester. get back above we turn it back on. Can't get back above we start thinking about disenrollment and payback.
Here is what the contract looks like.

Used to be 3.0...think it changed 2 or 3 years ago.
Thanks for the plug. Congrats on producing 2 officers. they grow up so fast. I've been here long enough that Cadets I saw contract as freshmen are now Captains. Hard to believe sometimes.
Clarkson - how have you managed to stay in one place so long... or can't they get anyone else to come up to the frigid north?
I like Potsdam (charming town) and the north country as you drive along the St Lawrence. It was one of the more pleasant drives I've done over the years with goaliegirl.
As to the cold... She's actually in a colder place... I'm not!
