So I've been on standby for a phone call from the staffers for Sen. Boxer for the nomination interview - time frame: any time between 0800 - 1700.

...8h30m later, no phone call yet...

What's going on?

Certainly not very polite of them. I hope they get to you in the next 20 minutes. Hang in there. Maybe they had a full schedule.

Same thing happened to my DS last year, however the phone call did come late in the afternoon. The interview took less than 10 minutes which was strange, but he ended up with the nomination from Senator Boxer. Just curious, did anyone suggest to you that you should dress up as if you were going to an in-person interview? They did with my DS and he sat around all day dressed up and no one from their office asked what he was dressed in during the phone interview.

Update: Phone call never arrived from her...

Hmm...

Yes - back at NWP we were told to dress formally for a nomination interview, be it in-person or phone. I've been walking around in my suit with my Falcon pin for the past 9 hours.

And no phone call.

Called up the office - no one picked up. Left a message and sent them an e-mail...

Yeah - they left a voice message this afternoon whilst I was at school - something along the lines of :

"Hello, I apologize for running over time for the interview. However, we have learnt that you recently received a nomination from our Congresswoman. As such we will not be interviewing you. Have a nice day."

Their logic is understandable. The thing is, I wish they had told me this BEFORE the grueling 9 hour wait for the interview. Would have been nice if they did in fact conduct the interview within the already-large time frame window too.
