Just wanted to start this thread so anyone who has gotten a nom from a Massachusetts MOC can chime in and give details (if they choose) or just say "Yeah, I got one from a Senator/Congressman/Congresswoman".

I have not heard anything yet, just to set the bar to start. Not sure when letters start arriving...

Hi simple, my son hasn't heard anything from either Sen. Kerry or Brown since his interviews. He did receive his nominations from our MOC, congressman McGovern, so we are grateful for that.

Recieved letter of Nomination from Scott Brown before past weekend. No word from office of Nikki Tsongas or John Kerry since interviews.

Second Nomination (Sen John Kerry)

Yesterday I received a second nomination from Senator John Kerry's Office. So now I'm sure that most, if not all, of both Senators' offices have sent out their nominations.

Thanks all for the replies..

@@Tiger28: So you got nominations to the same SA from both Kerry and Brown? I thought they coordinated between them to not double-nominate to the same SA. And also are you in any special category (e.g., you have an LOA; yoyu are a recruited athlete)? Just curious.

Yes I did receive nominations to the same SA (USAFA) from both offices and spoken with both to confirm this post receiving a letter. Also, no I am not in any special category, I am an interested athlete, but other than that I'm in the same pool as most everyone else and have not heard of anything from the AFA.

Cool, thanks Tiger28.

Just an update to my sons nom. status
This week received a WP nom from Kerry and Brown, already had congressman
Yahoo!!!!! :shake:

Hi everyone,

All of a sudden:
- My nomination letter from Scott Brown arrived Friday;
- My nomination letter from John Kerry arrived Saturday;
- My appointment packet (acceptance to the USMA Class of 2016) arrived Monday.

A tidal wave of postal good news, after months (heck, a year and a half !!) of going through the process.

Thanks all here for your ongoing camaraderie and support.

- Tim

Just to update myself also, recieved a third nomination from local congresswoman for USAFA, already had both senators for USAFA.

Son received nominations from both Senator Scott Brown and Congressman McGovern several weeks ago.

Also go back from a recruiting visit to USAFA last week with a Letter of Intent for Cross Country and Track

Son then received a call this past Thursday from both Congressman McGovern and Senator Brown that he has received an appointment to the Air Force Academy.

Just waiting for the BFE now :)

MA Nominations for Class of 2017

Figured I would continue this thread for this year's USNA candidates.

DD received her nomination letter today from Senator Scott Brown, dated December 5, 2012.

:smile:

OysterMom.....Congrats to your DD! Did letter from Sen Brown say which slate method he uses? Ranked or Principle? We are also from MA and my DS is waiting. DS has 4yr NROTC in hand, but is waiting on USNA. Exciting times! Again best wishes to your DD!

Hi mom5xkids, Thanks for the best wishes. Ditto to your DS. DD's letter from Senator Brown did not specify, but DD asked during her interview, and learned that he submits his slate without ranking (one of the three possible approaches):

  • without ranking
  • principal with 9 unranked
  • principal with 9 ranked.
