Anyone else out here that has applied to USNA and is very anxious hoping they get SOMETHING positive from USNA??? Im so anxious and fret everyday about this. It is something I have worked hard for all my life

Same thing happened to me. I have wanted to go most of my life and when I finished my application I received news that all the slots were already filled for my region. I felt that all my hard work was for nothing but a couple days later an appointment to the USNA Prep School was in my mailbox. You just have to be patient and dedicated and things will turn out.

I see, I would give so much to have that prep school appt dude, so just think of the hundreds or thousands of other teens out there like me that would love that spot and take it at the snap of a finger, if your hesitating and dont really want it with everything dont take it and give someone who would do anything for it like me.... just my opinion and how i feel about it man. So when was ur app complete that ended up bein too late?

I'm still waiting on a reply from USAFA, that is why I'm still deciding. I live in the Virgin Islands and they only let 3 people in the academy at a time. There is already two upper classmen at the academy so three islands were competing for one slot and they ended up giving it to a recruited swimmer I believe.

Received Congressinal Nomination 2 weeks ago, 3Q; all other stats seem good; but, wait everyday for the mail!

Same as the last two that posted 3qed with noms but still no appointment in the mail

I'm in the same boat with you guys. I'm still waiting although I know a direct appointment is not in the works for me. I've got two noms but with my SAT's mediocre, my BGO has told me that they are considering me for NAPS or Foundation School. I'd kill for either. Both have same end result but fewer numbers get Foundation Schools. Good-luck to all of you waiting. Keeping my fingers crossed and paving a path to my mailbox every freakin day!

Me as well, I have a nom, 3Q, and everything was submitted by Mid-November. I still haven't heard anything. I'm from Michigan's 10th district, and the suspense is starting to get a little stressful. However, once March hits and if I still haven't heard anything, my stress will be exploding.

I have an alternate congressional nom, senatorial nom, and presidential nom, I know I'm physically and medically qualified but haven't heard about scholastically though I assume I am? I also have mediocre act scores (upper 20's with math at 24 cuz I go to a small school where I am just now taking trig as a senior). And a 4.0 but no ap classes (because of small school once again) but I have no idea what to expect and when to expect it and I am so nervous!!!!!

Unless you have a principal nomination from your MOC or an LOA and a nomination, you probably won't hear until February or March. The waiting is definitely nerve wracking, but you are in good company with the majority of applicants.

Just wanted to mention that one thing considered when they look at your course work is if you took the toughest classes at your school. So if your school offers AP courses you better have some in your record. If your school doesn't offer AP, your lack of AP courses will not count against you.

Still Waiting Here Also

I am female from WV I have 3 nominations and I am 3Q'd also, went to Summer Seminar and I am going to CVW in March. I check the mail everyday even on Sunday, just in case. I have heard nothing as of yet. Has any one from WV heard anything?

I hope they look into it with an open mind of some sort, because my school offers ap calculus but I could not take it. They make you take our math classes in order algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, trig, then calc. The only way to be able to take calc is to have take algebra 1 in 8th grade and for that you had to picked. In 8th grade I wasn't a good math student so I didn't get picked. Its stupid I think, but I cannot help it. Other than that, I have taken our haredest classes with A's (chemistry and physics is about all we have for "harder" classes), I hope they look at just more than my course work for my app!

I think the key is you took the most advanced courses you could.

Hello all,

My DS got his appointment letter today! This is only 10 days after his congressional nomination was received. He (and we parents) have been preparing for this for nearly two years. Good luck to everyone as the appointments start coming in.

My candidates file is complete including interview and 2 noms. The last item was submitted on 12/28. I understand it is a rolling process and appointees are notified up through april, and the more qualified the candidate, the sooner they might receive an appointment, but does anyone know what is the soonest we might hear? Might they be waiting for mid year transcripts to see fall semester grades?
