BBall - 64'
Shuttle - 9.5
Pullups - 6
Pushups - 50
Situps - 71
Mile - 7:45

I know my scores are below average (especially the pullups), but how do they look overall? I didn't feel too good running the mile today (normally I can do 7:00 pretty comfortably), probably because we had a half day in school and I didn't get to eat anything before the test (snowy and cold out too). I did 8 pullups, but my coach doing the exam was very strict and didn't count two of them. (I couldn't do any pullups 2 months ago!)

I have already received a nomination and I've got good academics and leadership, so the CFA was pretty much the only thing holding me back.

Are the as bad as I feel they are?

To be brutally honest, yes. This is a very competitive class you're walking into. If it's the best you can do, then it's the best you can do. But if you feel as if you can do better and you choose not to, that's on you. These scores need to improve bottom line. I'm just giving you the cold, hard truth my friend.

Yeah, not the greatest. They are not at a "you have no chance" level, but they aren't very good. If fitness is your weak spot, and you do well above average elsewhere, it'll probably be OK admissions wise (academics and ECs being larger percentages of the WCS). My own CFA was not very good at all, but I still got in.

That said, you need to keep improving if you don't want to end up on Recondo or get PERCed (kicked out for athletics). Trust me, you do not want to be on Recondo! (experience talking here)

You gave me a bit of hope there!

I am absolutely planning on continuing working out and improving my fitness for BCT, so I can enjoy the physical aspect of it instead of dread it.

Would you mind sharing your CFA scores if you remember them? Everyone who posts here always posts these amazing scores, so I always have to compare myself to the top echelon, instead of seeing the bigger picture.

Yeah, I would recommend taking it. I am a female and my mile time was slightly faster than yours, did more situps, and the same amount of pushups. Take it one more time!:thumb:

Like others have said, you should try to max out on all categories.

CFA Max for Males
Basketball Throw:102
Pull-Ups: 18
Shuttle Run: 7.8
Modified Sit-Ups: 95
Push-Ups: 75
1-Mile Run: 5:20

Your goal is to max out on everything, just to play it safe. If you really want this, you should strive to do the maximum. Remember, USAFA is 7258 feet up and when you take your PFT, it will become even more difficult because of the altitude. Trust me, I went to Summer Seminar and I felt a HUGE change haha.

I was there too, session B. Going up that first flight of stairs and seeings multiple kids breathing heavy made me realize what altitude feels like haha.

Just to give you a bit more perspective, here's my scores. (I'm a guy.)

Basketball Throw: 69
Pull-Ups: 3
Shuttle Run: 8.8
Modified Sit-Ups: 82
Push-Ups: 40
1-Mile Run: 6:34

To avoid discussion that's already happened:
I was going to retake my CFA but my ALO told me I couldn't even though I hadn't yet submitted my scores.
No, I don't know why. I even told him that people on the Service Academy Forums said I should be able to, but his response was, "Just pass it and you'll be fine."

Yes, my ALO told me the same thing.
My CFA scores:

B-ball toss - 66ft
pull ups - 9
Shuttle Run - 7.8
Modified Sit-ups - 70
Pushups - 73
Mile Run - 7:13

I think these scores will pass, I've been nerved wracked because I don't want to lose my principle nomination. In short, if the Academy wants you, they just want to make sure you can move. You're scores ARE NOT dismissible, but they will definitely not help you. I really hope you're not relying on them for a competitive appointment.

Since everyone else is posting their scores, here are mine:

63 feet basketball throw
13 pullups
9.8 shuttle run
78 situps
67 pushups
6:14 mile run

LOL, I sucked bad in some areas. And I performed everything as strict as possible.

My scores: Male - taken at 9300 feet FYI

Shuttle run: 9.4
Pull ups: MAXED! 18
Sit ups: 91 almost maxed
Push ups: 55
Basketball throw: 78.4
Mile: 6:52.9, my best was a 5:49 at sea level

I've decided to retake the CFA on Friday most likely. I know I can do a better mile (7 to sub 7) and probably a slightly better shuttle run and situps. I know I'm stuck with pullups and pushups though. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Triple111, I sent you a private message a few days ago. Have you read it?
