I just talked to a staffer in my Senator's office. I had got a letter from their office 2 days ago saying I was nominated by the Senator for USAFA. Today I found out that I was the principal nominee! I am 3q'd as well. I can't wait for the appointment offer...

Does anyone know whether the academy will send me a BFE as soon as they process the nomination, or will they wait until March with the rest of the candidates?

Chances are, you will still have to wait until the March/April time frame. A lot will depend on if you have any other nominations. It won't necessarily stop you from getting the appointment, but the academy may CHOOSE to give you your appointment with another nomination if you have one, because in theory, maybe another person in your state that ALSO WANT, but S/He only has a nom from the same senator.

Anyway; there's a lot of possibilities. Appointments are much more selective. If you indeed have a principal, then congratulations. But don't be surprised if you still have to wait until March/April. A lot of things have changed in the last 2 years. Just hang in there.
