OMG!!! What took NROTC to accomplish in 8 1/2 MONTHS, AROTC accomplished in ONE HOUR!!!!!:shake: DS's AROTC Officer interview was scheduled for 1:00 PM today, the interview lasted one hour. Then after fighting traffic to get back home in time to pick up younger brother from school and then bringing him home, voila...miracle of miracles...AROTC status page shows "Interview: Received" - honest to goodness!!! How crazy and EFFICIENT is that?! (This is the same DS who was interviewed THREE times, THREE different Officers at THREE different sites over the course of 8 1/2 months for NROTC:eek:) Anyway, Army wins the Efficient Interview Round!!

"Army" and "Efficient", you don't see those two words together in the same sentence very often, Just kidding.

Glad the interview went well, you right though, the Army's Interview process is very efficient.

Go Army beat Navy!!

My tail is between my legs. Navy has been a very bad dog!

Never thought I'd be on the "same side" of those who yell "GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!!!":yllol: Not after the complete immersion our family has had in "GO NAVY BEAT ARMY" culture ever since DD was a USNA plebe in 2005!!! Wow!!! The fierce/friendly rivalry those 4 years she was a midshipman was intense - all year long, all four years and especially the week and day of the Navy-Army football each year! DD was in 13th company and thus was a runner in the tradition steeped “Ball Run” from the Yard to the "battlefield/football" stadium in Philadelphia some 125 miles away. Through the dark of night, in rain, snow, and whatever else is coming out of the sky at that time of year, the runners from 13th run the ball, one at a time. As a firstie in ‘08, DD was chosen to be runner #1, so no 3 am running that year for her, the Ball Run traditionally begins at noon day before the game with the entire Brigade gathered in front of Bancroft with eardrum busting “GO NAVY BEAT ARMY” heard up and down the eastern seaboard I understand! I think I may have even heard it way out here in the Midwest! So it feels almost like I’ve committed some hideous sin now by siding with the “enemy” -

That was a fun read. Congratulations to your daughter. It was like that at our house for a couple years. My older son started AROTC in 08, my younger son is 3 years behind him. Younger son was set on the Navy back then so it was always a rivalry between them. Well things changed and the younger son is now in AROTC at the same university as the older son.

Good luck to your son, I hope he gets what he wants .

Oh BTW, we won't tell anyone about your temporary defection and we won't make you wear the ARMY T-shirt.
