Am I really appointed?

This is confusing me:

I received a financial aid letter from KP today. I had a LOA from back in November. I go online and see that I did get a nomination. Neither my other senator nor my congressman has told me whether I have their nomination or not.

I have everything else in....appointment right?

Another twist, under application status, it still says conditional

conditional=LOA

Am I in or maybe not quite?

Why don't you just call admissions tomorrow? They are quite helpful and can get you an answer that probably only they have.

So Congratulations are in order!:yay:

So, which way are you leaning and why?

Looks like you have a good problem on your hands

I am going to attend USNA because after looking through what I wanted- be a naval officer and have flexibility with choosing a major- I decided USNA was better for me. Also, I am serisouly undecdied between Navy or USMC. At USNA, I will be able to experience both before making such a decision

Other reasons- larger school- I come from a town of less than 50k and want the bigger city atmosphere (Annapolis isn't exactly big but near large cities- DC and Baltimore). The number of mids at USMMA is actually slightly smaller than the student pop. of my HS.

closer to home- I wanted to get out of my state but still see the advantages of being able to get form the academy and back home within 5 hours (flight times of under 3 hours).

6 weeks of indoc- as funny as it sounds, I do want "boot camp" style training. I see it as an experience that everyone should go through as valuable life experience. This might be the results of hanging around veterans- both enlisted and officers.

ROTC at Michigan
I know that the University of Michigan is one of the best universities in the country-mainly their grad programs. Even as an undergrad, I could be still be around some of the best and brightest grad students. However, more than likely, I will be stuck in huge classes as an engineering undergrad freshman. The main reason I see why ROTC is not the best option for me is that I wanted to serve and be trained in 24/7 military environment. ROTC does not offer that.

USAFA
Well, no one can be certain which academy he/she will get into. I could see myself working around jets out of AFA. However, the Navy offers a lot more exciting options for me.

Sounds like you have sound reasoning. Good luck and best wishes to you in your career at USNA.

Btw, KP does kind of have a big city atmosphere to enjoy while on liberty :shake:
NYC! ( it's kind of a big deal )

Congrats on the USNA. Still waiting as I am on a hold status. USMMA is my number 1 choice.

Well you now know of one appointment that will be turned down so :thumb:
