If we did not receive a scholarship in the first or second board, would it be beneficial to send cadet command our most recent report cards/grades before the deadline of the third board?

I believe your packet can't be updated other then SAT/ACT, and school selections.

The best thing to do is call the ROO at your school of choice and talk to them. Even if you can't submit the grades to CC you can let the battalion know.

I don't know about AROTC, but for NROTC MO when I asked if I could submit an updated transcript, I was told to send an official copy in ASAP.

Army/Navy......Oil/Water

The AROTC and NROTC MO application process are completely different. What is true for one is not for the other. The NROTC MO board to my knowledge has not even met yet. The AROTC have already completed two boards. Once an AROTC applicant has been seen by a board the application can't be updated other then SAT/ACT and school selections. As always that may have changed a bit this year in which case the OP will find out when they contact their school.

Good luck with NROTC MO

Agreed, but only somewhat different. Still, the devil is in the details and for this you are 100% right... cannot compare.

I think there was a Board in early December, with another Board to follow in early Spring ... I'm just going by threads wherein I recall reading that some NROTC MO scholarships were awarded just before Xmas.

Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing a couple NROTC MO awards awhile ago.....So much for my knowledge....."Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most":frown:

Your file has been scored. It does not get looked at again. Unless you have something like your SAT scores that change dramatically, you won't affect that score much. What you might want to do is scrub your school list. And you should definitely be talking to ROOs and making plans to come to campus and enrolling in the class if you are serious about becoming an Army Officer.

Quick question: what does ROO stand for? I can't find it anywhere

Recruiting Operations Officer, at least the Recruiting and Officer part are right, not 100% sure about the Operations.

The main thing is that the ROO is the recruiting officer for the battalion.

Alright thanks :thumb:

If you have already been passed over, you should remove any high priced schools from your list. You will be more likely to receive an offer to a lower priced school.

Disagree...as applicants start to accept SA offers slots may open up at some high cost schools. Some of those are schools that had previously had all their allocations given. You may get lucky if you rank high enough. The third round is definitely a crap shoot, and the variable just increase as very competative applicants that just were lazy or behind the power curve get into the mix. I wouldn't take any schools off my list, unless you've decided not to apply to/attend them. Agree that price matters these days, but in my opinion tinkering too much with your school list isn't helpful. Remember, your not really passed over, your still in the pile, and if the cut line comes down, and you have the right school on your list...bingo...offer...felling lucky???
