Hello I am a freshman at a state university. Do I need to send in my first semester transcript to USAFA?

Not necessarily. They didn't ask for mine. Unless it's outstanding, no need to volunteer for anything.

I'm going to respectfully disagree.

I think, MPO, that if you are in college you SHOULD send it in unless it's ugly.

Why?

Because the HUGE challenge the admissions panel faces when reviewing a candidate is this: WILL THEY SUCCEED HERE? And trust me, their biggest concern is NOT militarily or physically; it's academically. That's the most "common" fatality at an SA.

If you are currently IN college and succeeding, THAT question is moot...

It's why college students are looked at a bit differently, at least by USAFA.

DS thinking is don't send it! It was a bit "UGLY" Never in 7 years of middle school or Highs school had an "UGLY" one. ROTC was an eye opener in college so this semester he is retaking a class. GPA was high enough to keep his 4 year ROTC but NOT his best work. Oh well the chips will fall where they will at this point. West Point did ask for his grades so he is still pondering how to approach it with them.

DS hasn't heard anything from AFA, no NWL or anything... Anyone else NOT heard from them?

Well, it's not really suprising he hasn't heard anything. Last year the only communication I had from them was a request to retake my CFA. Other than that, nothing until my TWE, then my scholarship.

This year, I got one letter from admissions but it was specifically tailored to us preppies. I wouldn't worry too much, they're busy right now making the big decisions! Keep patient and best wishes! We'll all know soon (hopefully)... :thumb:

Just curious, if not too personal....Why would they request you to retake the CFA and when did they make that request? After the application deadline? And how quickly did you send back your second CFA results?
