In lieu of searching further for threads regarding the title subject, can you better informed enlighten me as to whether or not the USCGA participates in a Prep School? I saw something relative to a Scholars Program, is that it? I know in years past the USCGA had utilized NAPS as a Prep School....

Thank you in advance,

In lieu of us spoon feeding you the answer:

Search for CGAS - Coast Guard Academy Scholars program.

CGA no longer uses NAPS or NMMI.

Marion Military Institute and Georgia Military College are the two Prep Schools.

My DS is a CGAS (Coast Guard Academy Scholar) at Georgia Military College.
This is the first year CGA has used GMC as one of their two prep schools. The decision to move from NMMI was made so both of the prep schools would be closer to the academy thus making it easier for visiting and communication.
My DS experience to date has been positive at GMC. The extra year has let him mature and also play football at a very high level.

Thank you for posting this. My son will most likely be at GMC next year. We have heard nothing but positive about GMC but it is good to hear more.
