Hi all,
I did not receive an MOC call, a BFE, or a Portal Status Change (still candidate).
I was just wondering how many others of you are in the same boat, and (if you feel comfortable sharing) your criteria/info.

I'm from CT, district 5.
GPA: 3.6
SAT: 2150 (Math=720, Reading=690, Writing=740)
One Congressman Nom, one Senator Nom (They are "non competitive", so there's no such thing as presidential etc. here.)

Still waiting to hear. Applied through LEAD. You would probably puke if you saw my GPA.

Each and every single person who has not heard anything from the Academy is feeling the same anxiety and nervousness that you are. There's no point trying to compare yourself to others here who have heard nothing. There are quite a number of posts here telling you that the Academy's decision is not a reflection on you personally. They are absolutely correct.

Take a deep breath, go for a jog, and enjoy your last months of freedom before you are owned by the Air Force. You may be stoked about BCT, but it's different from actually being there and being a civilian hopeful.

Go hangout with your friends, soon you won't be seeing them for quite a while. I haven't seen a few of my friends in almost 2 years due to being on Active Duty.

PS, if you saw my SATs you would suffocate from overt amounts of laughter.

I completely agree. If you're lucky enough to be accepted your life won't be yours for at least a decade. Enjoy having no responsibilities as much as you can as long as you can.

Is that good or bad haha?

And to the last two people. I know, I'm stressed, I'm probably really annnoying :p
But I'd like to know if I have a chance of getting in before I started relaxing.
If I don't get in, I'll feel like I shouldn't have relaxed because I wouldn't be going anywhere this June...

It's bad, I'm sure my counselor had a good laugh when he saw it. Luckily I did well on the SAT. If I've learned anything from the AF over the last two years it's that worrying about things you can't control is wasted energy.

Do you mean there isn't a principle nominee on your MOC's slate? A Presidential nom has nothing to do with MOC noms, and everything to do with whether the candidate meets certain criteria--i.e. being the child of an active duty military member (its a bit more involved than that, but there has to be a family connection) or other certain family situations. Or maybe you meant that your congressman and senators "talk" and don't compete with each other for candidates, each nominating a separate slate of 10 so as to spread the wealth. And everyone is able to apply for a VP nom, no matter if they have a MOC nom, a Pres nom etc. The more the better!

My stats are much worse than yours :thumb:

TX: 28th District
GPA: 3.71
SAT: 1690 (Math = 590, Reading = 530, Writing = 570)
Presidential Nomination

Hmmm... Did he post in this thread? I'd say it's safe to say, Yes, yes he is still waiting.

Haha yup I'm still waiting. We should all know within the next 2 weeks according to the USAFA admissions webpage (Early week of April) :screwy:

I don't really care to compare, but if you want to know I don't mind sharing.

3.61 GPA is what's on my file but currently I have about a 3.75 GPA. (Lot's of A's this year.)
I haven't taken the SAT,but my ACT score is 27 which translates to about 1820 SAT.
I have one nom from my Rep.
Average CFA (Above average on most of it but below in two parts)
Lots of leadership and EC

Hopefully that helps you determine that magical line you're searching for.

I have a very supportive family and I have great options for college other than USAFA, so I'm more than ready to reapply next year if I don't make it this year. :thumb:

Since folks are sharing here are the stats for my DS. My intent is not to discourage anyone, but to encourage everyone to keep up with plans B & C only because of the highly competitive nature of the process this year;

3.85 GPA on USAFA file, but school reports 4.10 and still taking AP/Honors classes

33 on ACT (32-ENG, 34-MTH, 33-Reading, 32-SR)

3 nominations (Both Senators and our Representative)

CFA scores all slightly above average

Boys State, Service/Community hours, Leadership, Golf (4yrs) and EC

As mentioned before even though DS has appointment we are still executing plan B incase something happens during BCT. Plan B is full tuition at Auburn and we will officially withdrawal on A-day.

Good luck to all and be proud for what you are doing and what you have achieved.

Wow, what an excellent resume. I've no doubt your very proud of him.

In a way, your post makes me feel better, simply because I know that means USAFA is being sure to pick the best of the best of the best this year. It's not necessarily good for my hopes, but ultimately it's not about me, but our country and its future leaders.

We are very proud of him and our DD (Auburn 2010) just as I know that your parents are of you.

Just the very thought that you and others like you are willing to step up to the plate and serve this great Country of ours is a beautiful thing. I, as a Marine Veteran, love our youth such as yourself that are unselfishly willing to make a commitment beyond all commitments. This is what you all should be proud of within yourselves.

The wait may continue for you, but if for some reason USAFA does not turn to be your path your self determination will guide down the road that will eventually get you where you want to be.

I have applied to all three of the major service academies, (USAFA, USNA, and USMA). I have been offered appointments to USMA and USNA, but am waiting for my number 1 choice, that being USAFA. Today I was offered admission to UPENN, Cornell, and Dartmouth College. Kinda shows that everywhere is different. May seem great to most, but I will be very disappointed if I do not get into USAFA.

My stats: 4.2 GPA at school, shown as 3.96 on portal (All AP's)
SAT II Scores: Calc AB-5 A.P. History- 5 A.P.Chem- 4
2250 SAT (760CR, 780M, 710W)
33 composite ACT (34R and 34M)
School does not rank, I would guess top 10
Soccer recruit to USMA and USNA, not USAFA
Endless extra c's
CFA Scores: 94ft Bball
18(max) pull ups
75(max) push ups
95(max) sit ups
8.2 sec shuttle run
6:09 mile run
Still keeping my head high and hoping for the best, but as of now it seems unlikely. Good luck to all of those still anxiously awaiting for the coveted BFE!!

I just got my acceptance today via portal change. My SAT scores are not as high as yours. I dont know about your extra curriculars but I think that's a big chunk of the decision process as well. But try to stay busy and distract yourself as much as possible until you get a notification. Thats what i did it really helps with the nerves!
PS dont start reading too much into PFT scores and qualifications posted on here by other people. It will just make you more nervous.

3.8 as reported by USAFA, 4.0 as reported by my school, mostly AP's.
34 Composite ACT
Solo Captain as a junior of 100+ person ski team
competed at the world cup this year
etc etc...

2 nominations

CFA above average in everything except on my mile I had a 7:10
