I need some suggestions/guidance. My daughter received her appointment yesterday. She is on the fence (has full NROTC scholarship to #1). She has never visited the academy and has never had the opportunity to talk with other female mids.

What opportunities are available this late to tour and visit USNA? I honestly believe that she needs to see and experience the academy before making this huge commitment.

Thanks for your help in advance!

If she has specific questions about life as a female mid, PM me and I can help you out.

There's a CVW this weekend, not sure if there are any more?

When my son received his BFE we called admissions to tell our CGO the good news. He told us if my son wanted, he could come for a Candidate Visit Weekend in April. You could try calling admissions tomorrow and see if that option is available. Congrats on the appointment.
Cheers...

So helpful! Thank you both so much. Unfortuately, my mother-in-law died and the funeral is this weekend. We may have to take her for a visit and do something solo.

Hurricane12, I'll probably have my daughter make a list of questions and shoot them to you! Thanks for the offer.

Sorry for your loss. The CVW my son was offered was to be in late April. I would try and call admissions anyway. If you do a solo trip, call ahead to admissions and your BGO. At the very least you can chat face to face with someone from admissions and sign up for a guided tour. Your BGO may be able to set something up IRT a private tour. These options were what were offered to us before my son'a appointment. I have a feeling that if an appointee were to ask for a tour, that would not be an issue. Never hurts to ask.
Good luck...

Contact your daughter's BGO to enquire about her attending an April CVW...my Firstie attended an April CVW to help him make that most important decision ...he also was on the fence at the time, ( he had attended NASS).... the CVW was very helpful in making up his mind.....he's headed for NAVY flight school this July :thumb:

Lee2015, My Firstie is also a female Mid. To be honest, I'm guessing from reading Hurricane's posts, her answers are usually nearly identical to things my Mid would say/suggest, but if your daughter wants to hear from more than one person, let me know.

In the mean time, I can tell you that, even though mine is totally ready graduate/Commission, and to move on past USNA, she is absolutely sure that USNA has been the right place for her.

And if your daughter wants a current female plebe's perspective, feel free to ask me anything.

does anyone know dates of april CVW?

You mentioned a weekend in April and I wondered if anyone knows specific dates.

I have a son who just received other college offers and although he attended NASS I feel he should go back now that he has appointment.

I believe there is one April 26-28.

Eliza - I PM'd you.
