What is the closest aiport to fly into in Philadelphia? I see that there are two airports in Philadelphia. Which airport code is the closest.
Thank you.

We are flying in from California and will rely on public transporation. What hotels do you recommend that are convenient and/or close to stadium?

We too will be coming from CA, SFO Bay Area. Lincoln Field, where the game is scheduled for, is part of a huge sports complex that includes venues for the '76ers, Phlyers and Phillies. There is a subway station right there. It is actually the end of the Broad St line. We are looking at staying in the downtown area because I'm thinking that's where many of the pre/post game festivities will be happening. This will be our first Army-Navy game. Choice of hotels are plentiful but I have a preference for Marriotts. Catching the subway from downtown is very easy. The famous Old City Hall is at the north end of Broad St, in downtown, while the sports complex is at the south end. I think they are about 2-3 miles apart. After you fly into PHL you can catch a cab and also a train to downtown. This train is part of the subway system I believe but on a different line than Broad St. The name of the subway/rail system in Philly is SEPTA. They have a website that shows their system and schedules. Hope this helps you get started.
Cheers...

The stadium is only about 20+ minutes from the airport so we stayed in a Hilton Hotel close to the airport. We flew in from CA on Thusday and spent Friday playing tourist in Downtown Philly. The historic center of town can keep you busy all day. On Saturday the Stadium was only 15 minutes from the hotel. We hate public transportation and I'm a corporate traveler so we rented a car. Philly with a GPS phone is easy to navigate. Caught a 6:00 AM flight back to SFO on Sunday. It's an amzing experience.

You might be well served to check with your local Naval Academy Parents' Club to see what information they have compiled. The local club in this area has been organizing bus transportation, tailgates, etc, for the Army/Navy game and Navy/Air Force game for several years. The clubs usually have a ton of useful information available for plebe parents.
