Today I received my rejection letter from West Point. This was very disappointing for me, as West Point is my dream school. I have received a nomination from a senator, a perfect on my medical, and PT tests. I have a slightly low math ACT score, but overall decent. My GPA has never fallen below a 3.6. I am President of a church group and school group. I am the team captain of track and will receive my 4 year varsity letter in the spring. Due to my average ACT stand point- I am confident that if extended an offer to the prep school, and were given time to improve, I could become a better candidate for West Point. So- my question is,

* If I have been rejected to West Point, does this include the USMAPS West Point prep school as well?

Not necessarily. I, too, did not receive an appointment to WP unfortunately- however, I did already receive an offer to their Prep School (USMAPS) which I have accepted.

My Eng SAT score was too low therefore I was considered an academic risk also known as being academically dq'd. My gpa is a 3.9, I am 13th in my class, 11 varsity letters, captain 4 times during HS, Girls State, NHS, all honors and AP classes etc...

The Prep school is the next best thing. Hope you get in!!

I am in your shoes except my GPA is a 3.5 didn't play as much sports but am well qualified in all aspects other than test scores. I am a math risk not english. I haven't heard from MAPS but did get denied from the academy.

I rec'd my first correspondence from my RC in January asking if I would be interested in USMAPS. After many, many e-mails & phone calls, I agreed, rec'd my offer in Feb and signed it the beginning of March. USMAPS rocks!
