Swearing in
From what I recall last year, the plebes file in from both sides. As you face Bancroft Hall, companies 1=15 file infrom the right and fill in the seats from front to back (ie the latter numbers are closer to the back and the parents) and the other half of the plebe companies file in from the left.
Good Luck finding your plebe (we were lucky and did find ours walking in) The sun is bright and in your eyes, difficult to see.
As for saving seats, it is frowned upon unless you are sitting in them the whole time. Some folks last year "saved" seats with paper/tape etc however, it was not looked upon too kindly. If you are seated in the bleachers, keep in mind that it takes time to file out of them to find your plebe afterwards and you really don't have that much time to "visit' and say good bye.
Tribling walk is marked off on either side behind the bleachers with flags and letters. As I recall, the letters A-O are on the right as you face backward from Bancroft and the remaining are on the left. Try to wear something that your plebe can spot you in quickly (bright color ) Bring a towel or cheap picnic tablecloth (ie water proof) for mid to sit on so they do not stain their white works. Bring a cold drink and food for Mid and take lots of pictures. Be sure to stay until the end after the new plebes march into Mother B (Bancroft Hall) as it is very emotional to see. Be prepared for some tears as they play a funeral type drum beat for the plebes to march into and as they slam the huge doors of Bancroft Hall shut. Quite the exclamation mark on the end of the day! Feel free to PM me if you want any more specific info.
Enjoy your Waldo watching over the summer and get out pen and paper to write lots of letters.
