After NROTC?

I had a couple questions concerning post NROTC. I understand one does OCS to become an officer and is committed to 4 years active service and 4 years reserve. I really want to serve my country a s a civil engineer.

1)would i be able to go into CEC (Civil Engineering Corp) after NROTC even if i am physically qualified?

2)would i be working for the navy as a civil engineer for those 4 years of active service?

3)can i extend my active service?

4)is the Army ROTC better suited for Civil Enginnering?

I'm no expert but when branching I would think the opportunity exists to branch to the CEC. There are no guarantees though. The higher you are on the OML the better the chances to get your desired branch. Yes, you can extend active duty. All of this is subject to the needs of the Navy at the time. I don't know the details but basically its a ranking based on GPA, PFT scores, evaluations, OCS rankings(?), and who knows what else. Bottom line is be the best you can be in all things.
